About SEO.IO

I started serious SEO research in 2007, working with a Seattle-based startup that quickly became one of the leaders in the online education market. [1]

I found two major blind spots in the SEO industry:

• First, there is a need for transparent SEO consulting that doesn't hide SEO techniques like medieval spells.
• Second, there is a need for simple tools that help bring transparency to the do-it-yourself community.

I'm a developer by training, with a background at Microsoft and a few startups in Seattle and San Francisco. I like technology and I realized there was an opportunity in the online tools space related to SEO, so I launched daily SEO rankings in your inbox at inboxSEO.com.

I also enjoy teaching, and so I launched seo.io to help (particularly) early stage startups with SEO consulting. My specialty is working with developers to develop SEO strategy that's more than just on-page optimization.
